BIG is participating in the Danish Architecture Centre's initiative to showcase the strengths of Danish architects and engineers by bringing the Building Sustainable Communities exhibition to the Cityscape Abu Dhabi. The exhibition attracts over 40.000 visitors over four days from around the world, who are stakeholders in the continuing growth of the Gulf region. The Building Sustainable Communities exhibition includes 29 architectural and engineering firms who have committed theselves to join the UN Global Compact initiatve which asks companies to act in a Coporate Social Responsible-manner when doing business. At Cityscape it has become evident that in a time of crisis and volatility good design becomes great value for money and continued stability - which developers and investors are seeking in ever greater numbers. By attending the Cityscape Abu Dhabi, the Danish Architecture Centre and the attending offices are doing just that: Illustrating through models, animations and presentations the best of Danish architecture.

Danish architects help each other at Cityscape
At DAC's stand, 29 Danish architetectural and engineering firms are represented. And it is quite unique at Cityscape to have a national stand, where several companies are represented. On the first day of the event we saw spectacular cross-company action going on: Amal Tamim from COWI presenting Henning Larsen's model of the Massar Children's Discovery Centre in Arabic to visitors to the stand, Kai-Uwe from BIG explaining to Lebanese visitors how another company's proposal was constructed, and everyone cheering for BIG, who were shortlisted for the annual Cityscape Awards for Real Estate in the Middle East.
